I’m thinking about going full Tavarish. I’ll be going to school soon on the GI bill and if I could make some money flipping cars instead of getting a part time job, that’d be grand. Here’s one I’m looking at. The ad doesn’t say there’s anything wrong with it, besides the starter that was already replaced recently, but at this price there has to be other things as well. I’m sure when it’s in good condition it could go for $1,500

do u need a dealer liscence to do that? thats something i want to do too. Like hell its gunna happen tho, the whole day job thing gets in the way. kids too. and a lack of garage + newengalnd winter isn’t helping wither.

Generally, if you sell 5 cars a year, you need a dealer license.

A regular PT job will guarantee you some money. Flipping cars could cost you money, and also a lot of time if the car needs more than you thought it did.

i guess if i do one every other month while it was nice out. maybe its something to think about. do you think there are cars what would have a greater return from getting it in non-running form to running?

maybe, but it all depends on what exactly it needs and how much you bought the car for. And remember, a dealer’s license will give you access to dealers-only auctions (MUCH better than the public auctions which are almost a waste of time and not really a good value)

My guess is that Jeeps (particularly the CJ/Wrangler and XJ Cherokee) will give the greatest returns from non-running to running.

If you’re serious about flipping cars, then you souldn’t take any advice or tips whatsoever from Tavarish. Most of the stuff I see from him is a joke.

You need to get a dealer’s license and hit up auctions. A CL gem can be found every once in a while, but that’s where you sell the cars you are flipping, not where you buy them. If you can hustle, have tools, and can wrench then I say go for it. Otherwise you should just wait tables/strip/film porn like every other college student.
